A Message From Odysseus

"They say the early worm is out that bitch before the birds fly in." This has been a high-five moment brought to you by Dope Blog Fresh ®, reporting live from the ass-crack of Mother Nature.

My peoples, I've been up since 6am, slept at 2am. I don't even know why I'm up this early but something was bothering me so I couldn't sleep. My thoughts race at times and I can't control them. So I decided to take this opportunity to write a blog post for The Martian and also do some GMAT studying.

If you watched the videos on my blog, you will pretty much know how my weekend was. CRAZY. A lot of drinking and Tom Foolery. My boy Samalu was in town and we held it down more than I expected we would. Really shut shit down for 3 days. I'm paying the consequences for that right now though. No regrets, no surrender!

How is everyone doing out there? Man, my phone crashed the whole day yesterday so I missed a lot of important phone calls and messages. I think that's one of the reasons why I woke up so early this morning - to try and fix it. Which I did. But I had to re-boot it so I lost a lot of my numbers which I didn't have saved on my simcard. So if you try to holla at me and I ask who you are, forgive me. To be honest, I don't think I even want my phone to be on for the next couple weeks. I feel like I need to zone out and get lost in my own head. It's crunch time. We'll see how things go.

How was everybody's weekends? I hope you lived a little. Life is too short to not live. I was thinking last night that the older we get the less stressed out we should be about things because those things that stress us out might outlive us and we'll go to our graves even MORE pissed off. So I say, say fuck it as much as you can, but have a clear head when you do.

Speaking of which, I hope you guys got to read my 'A Conversation With "The Fat Lady"' note I posted on my blog and facebook last week. I can't even front, but that's some of the deepest shit I've ever written. First of all, because of how randomly it came to me, and also just how heart-felt the message was. And also the light nature of it. Like you can read it to just enjoy it or get something serious from it. I hope it didn't go over your heads.

Anyway my muses, I just made some coffee and I want to ride on this caffeine high before I crash and end up going back to bed. Full speed ahead! Thank you guys for reading this, whoever does get to read it. I realized that I don't say thank you a lot, but thanks. The amount of love I get from blogging random shit really encourages me to keep doing this shit. At times I couldn't care less. That's when you guys come in and grab the wheel and tell me to hit the gas.

All systems engaged..

We have lift off...

A BATHING APE X KID CUDI INTERVIEW AND PHOTOSHOOT

Kid Cudi was featured within A Bathing Ape’s new catalog for the 2010 Summer season. Shown are a collection of images from the shoot along with an interview seen below. The photography was shot by Guy Aroch. Its definitely been busy times for the multi-faceted Scott Mescudi. Enjoy!

How was 2009? The release of your first album and touring must have been highlights?

Looking back at 2009 is just really overwhelming for me, the fans have carried me so far and I’m just enlightened by all the love I’ve received thus far. The highlight is traveling and meeting all these beautiful young people who feel how I feel. I speak their language.

You worked at BAPE STORE NEW YORK before. How did that come about and why did you want to work there?

I was always a fan of the brand but it just wasn’t something I could afford back then. I remember working there my first couple of weeks in the same uniform cause I didn’t own anything prior to being hired. So it was a dream come true to be able to work at the store I dreamed of shopping in one day. Over a couple of years I might have applied at the store 3 or 4 times before the last attempt that got me hired. I fell in love with BAPE because of their color selection and artwork. I love the style of their cartoons.

How did you first get to know about BAPE?

I discovered what BAPE was when I moved to NY, the store opened up shortly after I moved from Cleveland.

Did you hear any interesting stories about your time there?

I remember Kanye coming in one time and I was helping him get a couple things. I forgot to take a sensor off of one of the jackets he bought and I had to run out the store to catch him before he left. Pretty funny me chasing after him in SoHo haha.

What do you think of BAPE at the moment?

I think BAPE is taking things to amazing new levels. I love the new designs and artwork. They stay true to classic BAPE style but including new and creative twists here and there. I love what they’ve done lately with my MILO character.

Do you have any styling rules when you dress?

I def stick to what works for me. I like to be comfortable, I have a ridiculous amount of t-shirts, some vintage but mostly BAPE. I wear the same jeans everyday a couple months at a time. I have a uniform haha.

Please tell us your plans for 2010.

I’m working on my new album now, “Cudder and the Revolution of Evolution” which is due out this Summer. I have an HBO show I have a supporting role in called “How To Make It In America” airing now. I want to do a couple movies this Summer and some touring. I like staying busy. Its not work, it’s fun.

Hiiiiiiiiiiii theerrrrrrrrreee yooooouuuuu!

It is I, Odysseus. Here to fuck up your Time-Space Continuum, you fuck ups.

Man, I kill myself. How is everyone doing though? Me, not so well at the moment. I think I'm getting sick. I'm guessing it's the sudden weather change out here coupled with Spring time, which equals pollen and allergies. I don't really suffer from allergies that much but I get these random sinus attacks once in a while.

Anyway, I'm happy to be alive. My weekend was so-so. Nothing too big to talk about. Went out last night to a nice, chilled lounge. Beautiful women. Afro-centric might I add. That's always refreshing. I NEARLY ended up driving a friend (and his friends) to New Jersey because he was too drunk, but we killed enough time arguing for him to sober up and be able to drive again. SUCCESS! Good thinking huh!? Picture me waking up in New Jersey today, with no money and a hangover. Nah-uh son!

Nothing major has been on my mind lately but Grad School and my GMAT. I actually have a window open right now, with some test questions, which I'm about to tackle as soon as I'm done with this post. It's funny but I'm not nervous about Grad School. As in, It's in my head because I want to do it, but it's not bothering me that I may not be as prepared as I think I am for it. Or that IF/WHEN I start Grad School, I might be living a very broke and simple life (which is not far from what I'm doing right now ANYWAY) because I won't be able to hold down a job and be a full-time Grad student. Like I can't be making dough like how I know how. I guess I'll just have to get on a super-grind and figure out other ways to make money.

But I look at it this way, if I'm in school for an MBA, the MBA program will teach me about business (making money). So in a way, I won't be working, but my mind will be working on how to make WORK even more profitable. Dig? And maybe I can hustle classmates and kids on campus while I'm at it. I mean, it's New York City. SOMETHING gotta' give, son!

So yeah, I'm excited for the challenge. I feel like challenges are what have made me who I am today. What have made me so involved in so many different things. If things came easy to me, I would be, in the words of Lil Duval, "A basic nigga." LOL.

This coming week will be much of the same thing. It will be a little shorter though, because I plan on taking Friday, Saturday and Sunday off work because my boy Samalu is coming to visit me from Cali. Gotta show homie a good time and that will require me getting drunk and not being able to go to work. Pretty much. Yup!

Spring is officially here people. This means things blossoming. New ideas. New life. Act like it! I want to leave you guys with a quote I read on a rapper's twitter page. Actually two rappers. One if from Grafh and it said, "My goal is to be better by the hour. You have 24 times a day to be your greatest. Try not to suck at being you." The other is from CurT@!n$; he said, "Most people have a winners vocabulary with a losers work ethic. Say less, do more. That's all." Heavy words right? I know!

That. Is. All.

Peace Up, Up & Away!

Nahla Beiruty is a friend of mine, pretty cool girl, very artistic and unique individual. I'm a fan of music and these are a few of the dopest tapes that are out right now. International Quincy's tape is a good look for his first mixtape, it's a great effort and I respect him for not putting his pops (Diddy) on any of the joints. It's not super lyrical but for those that need something good to relax too, make sure you download this tape, he has a few original joints and some remixes. Bobby Creekwater is one of the dopest dudes from the A and he goes over Jay Electronica beats on the tape so make sure you peep the joints, he a real intellectual dude. Cons is cons, dope dude, this tape just dropped today so make sure you peep it. A bunch of exclusives on there! Well, enjoy people!

WORLD RECORD HOUSE OF CARDS

American architect Bryan Berg has succeeded himself as the world record holder in number of cards stacked. Bryan Berg used 218,792 cards(4,051 decks) to create a replica of the Venetian Macau with no glue or other aids to hold them together. Berg took 44 days to complete his model inside the Venetian, which sits at the heart of Macau's Cotai Strip, the China-ruled city's version of Las Vegas' neon alley. The hotel replica stands almost ten feet tall and is 33 feet long! Cool!

'This has been the most ambitious project I have undertaken to date,’ Berg said.
‘It’s really like a real construction project because you have to engineer every single adjacency and every support that’s supporting everything above,’ he added.

‘I was inspired to stack cards by my card-playing grandfather; maybe I can inspire some visitors at The Venetian Macao to try their hand at building their own structures.
‘There couldn’t be a more fitting place to build the world’s largest house of cards than at the world’s largest resort hotel,” he added.

"Stupid people are marketing tools. So just milk their bullshit for all it's worth. That's if they're not lacking the lactose already."

Ha! Another week is upon us. I'm still alive! Amen. What it look like my people? How was the weekend and all the other in between moments? Mine was boring right up to Sunday. Well, it was raining the whole weekend so it was going to be boring regardless. I did my usual work thing on Friday, came back home tired as hell. I probably had a beer, got online and knocked out. Saturday was a day full of more work. I went to my job and managed to make it through the rain to the 10 Deep sample sale downtown, where four other brands (Mighty Healthy, Acapulco Gold, Rocksmith Tokyo and In4mation) were also having sales. If you haven't heard of these other clothing brands, I suggest you google them. They make good underground gear. By now ya'll should know I don't rock Louis, Prada, Gucci or any other clichés.

So yeah, I went to that, helped out with the 10 Deep guys a little. I thought I was going to buy some gear but all the dope stuff was probably all sold out from the day before so I left empty handed. Didn't want to waste money on something wack just because it's on sale. I actually took video footage of the sale but I don't feel like putting that video up. I don't know why, I just don't. I don't want to be ODing with videos every week. I don't wan't ya'll looking at me like that. I'm still a private person. Besides, I got some good video footage on Sunday - which I'm about to talk about right now.

Well, I don't think I need to talk much about Sunday since I blogged about my day at the Photo shoot with Exude Magazine. So just peep my blog to get updated.

I don't know why, but I feel like this week will be calmer, more relaxed. It's weird I'm saying this because my schedule this week is exactly the same as previous weeks which stressed me the F out! But maybe it's because I did a lot (let me not lie, SOME) reading this morning while at Complex Magazine and I learned some new things. Learning something new always calms me down and gets me more focused on particular things, instead of my thoughts racing every 5 minutes. I honestly think that I have a thinking problem. As in, I over-think things and it paralyzes me, as far as me not doing anything but just sitting and thinking. Thinking is not such a good thing at times if you don't act on those thoughts. So I guess what I mean is, reading someone else's thoughts, stops me from being lost in my own. Know what I mean? Good!

I know this might be a little late since his exams are probably nearly over, but I would like to wish my brother Losi goodluck on his mid-term exams. This is his final semester so it's crunch time. I know that feeling when there's no, "I'll get better next semester." These are the grades that will forever be in your transcripts, now matter where you go in the world. This is it (Shout outs to Michael Jackson. LOL). My bad for the extra pressure Capo! Hehe. I'm proud of you family.

Ok, you guys have dove in my head enough for today. Get the fuck out!

I'm gone for another 7 days.

Miss me already.

CHACE INFINITE FT FASHAWN AND CURT@!N$ - 730

For hip hop heads and lyricists only, if your brain can't handle this, don't even hit play cause systems might overload and your stupid little cranium might explode. Definition of goin' in!

ALLOW ME TO INTRODUCE Y'ALL TO CARLOS SLIM HELU

#1 Carlos Slim Helu
$53.5 billion
Telecom, Mexico.
Telecom tycoon who pounced on privatization of Mexico's national telephone company in the 1990s becomes world's richest person for first time after coming in third place last year. Net worth up $18.5 billion in a year. Recently received regulatory approval to merge his fixed-line assets into American Movil, Latin America's biggest mobile phone company.

#2 Bill Gates
$53 billion
Microsoft, U.S.
Software visionary is now the world's second-richest man. Net worth still up $13 billion in a year as Microsoft shares rose 50% in 12 months, value of investment vehicle Cascade swelled. More than 60% of fortune held outside Microsoft; investments include Four Seasons hotels, Televisa, Auto Nation. Stepped down from day-to-day duties at Microsoft in 2008 to focus on philanthropy.

#3 Warren Buffett
$47 billion
Investments, U.S.
America's favorite investor up $10 billion in past 12 months on surging Berkshire Hathaway shares; says U.S. has survived economic "Pearl Harbor," but warns recovery will be slow. Shrewdly invested $5 billion in Goldman Sachs and $3 billion in General Electric amid 2008 market collapse. Recently acquired railroad giant Burlington Northern Santa Fe for $26 billion.

#4 Mukesh Ambani
$29 billion
Petrochemicals, oil and gas. India.
Global ambitions: His Reliance Industries, already India's most valuable company, recently bid $2 billion for 65% stake in troubled Canadian oil sands outfit Value Creations. Firm's $14.5 billion offer to buy bankrupt petrochemicals maker LyondellBasell was rejected. Since September company has sold Treasury shares worth $2 billion to be used for acquisitions. Late father, Dhirubhai, founded Reliance and built it into a massive conglomerate.

#5 Lakshmi Mittal
$28.7 billion
Steel, India.
London's richest resident oversees ArcelorMittal, world's largest steel maker. Net profits fell 75% in 2009. Mittal took 12% pay cut but improved outlook pushed stock up one-third in past year. Looking to expand in his native India; wants to build steel mills in Jharkhad and Orissa but has not received government approval. Earned $1.1 billion for selling his interest in a Kazakh refinery in December.

For the third time in three years, the world has a new richest man. Riding surging prices of his various telecom holdings, including giant mobile outfit America Movil ( AMX - news - people ), Mexican tycoon Carlo Slim Helu has beaten out Americans Bill Gates and Warren Buffett to become the wealthiest person on earth and nab the top spot on the 2010 Forbes list of the World's Billionaires.

Slim's fortune has swelled to an estimated $53.5 billion, up $18.5 billion in 12 months. Shares of America Movil, of which Slim owns a $23 billion stake, were up 35% in a year. That massive hoard of scratch puts him ahead of Microsoft ( MSFT - news - people ) cofounder Bill Gates, who had held the title of world's richest 14 of the past 15 years.

Gates, now worth $53 billion, is ranked second in the world. He is up $13 billion from a year ago as shares of Microsoft rose 50% in 12 months. Gates' holdings in his personal investment vehicle Cascade ( CAE - news - people ) also soared with the rest of the markets. Buffett's fortune jumped $10 billion to $47 billion on rising shares of Berkshire Hathaway ( BRK - news - people ). He ranks third.

The Oracle of Omaha shrewdly invested $5 billion in Goldman Sachs ( GS - news - people ) and $3 billion in General Electric ( GE - news - people ) amid the 2008 market collapse. He also recently acquired railroad giant Burlington Northern Santa Fe ( BNI - news - people ) for $26 billion.

In his annual shareholder letter Buffett wrote, "We've put a lot of money to work during the chaos of the last two years. When it's raining gold, reach for a bucket, not a thimble."

Many plutocrats did just that. Indeed, last year's wealth wasteland has become a billionaire bonanza. Most of the richest people on the planet have seen their fortunes soar in the past year.

This year the World's Billionaires have an average net worth of $3.5 billion, up $500 million in 12 months. The world has 1,011 10-figure titans, up from 793 a year ago but still shy of the record 1,125 in 2008. Of those billionaires on last year's list, only 12% saw their fortunes decline.

U.S. billionaires still dominate the ranks--but their grip is slipping. Americans account for 40% of the world's billionaires, down from 45% a year ago. The U.S. commands 38% of the collective $3.6 trillion net worth of the world's richest, down from 44% a year ago. Of the 97 new members of the list, only 16% are from the U.S. By contrast, Asia made big gains. The region added 104 moguls and now has just 14 fewer than Europe, thanks to several large public offerings and swelling stock markets.

The new billionaires include American Isaac Perlmutter, who flipped Marvel Entertainment ( MVL - news - people ) to Disney ( DIS - news - people ) for $4 billion last December. The Spider-Man mogul netted nearly $900 million in cash and 20 million shares of Disney in the transaction.

Also new to the ranking: 27 billionaires from China, including Li Shufu, whose automaker, Geely, announced plans to buy Swedish brand Volvo from Ford in December. The deal is expected to close in March 2010. Finland and Pakistan both welcomed their first billionaires. For the first time China (including Hong Kong) has the most billionaires outside the U.S. with 89. Russia has 62 billionaires, 28 of them returnees who had fallen off last year's list amid a meltdown in commodities. Total returnees to the list this year: 164.

I'm a finance dude so I had to do this. Well, intelligent martians, for more info, go to Forbes
