MERCEDES BENZ - CLK GTR

Back in the late 90s the cream of the crop of Mercedes Benz was the CLK GTR which was virtually street legal race car. These street versions you see here are replica versions of the GT1 class machines that competed and took the championship in 1997. Each vehicle was equipped with a 6.9 liter V12 pumping out 612 horsepower mated with sequential six speed transmission with paddle shifters and carbon fibre brakes. Only 25 vehicles were made with only 5 roadster versions, which pretty much means that these CLK GTRs are the most exclusive supercars on the planet.

Unfortunately for most of us, we would never own these, but for some lucky few these two examples in roadster version and coupe version is going to auction at RM Auctions on October 28th. Both of these vehicles are brand new and have not been driven except for delivery which means that these are as original as it gets. RM Auctions estimates that these will go under the hammer for the third of its brand new price that can only be good news for couple of car collectors with deep pockets. Via Autoblog

INHALT

Inhalt is the multicellular caravan by Mehrzelle.
"Using the online Configurator, every user sets up a design that is unique, their own layout that they can identify with. The configuration is generated by a computer using the customers inputs, and then the final design is done by parameters from the architects to yield an attractive and practicable result. The caravans are produced using the principles of mass customization: this allows both the individual wishes of the customer to be accommodated while producing the caravan with series methods. CHANEL FIOLE CONCEPT CAR

Jinyoung Jo is a car designer at Hong-ik University in South Korea, and this is her creation: the Chanel Fiole concept. As with classic Coco Chanel work, the design of the car was centered on simplicity of lines and “the best of black and white.” As with most concepts, there was also an emphasis on airflow. The car seats three, two abreast and one staggered in between — but it’s probably best considered a sleek two-seater for runway types. Via Trendland

MERCEDES-BENZ F-CELL ROADSTER

Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the F-CELL Roadster project. The F-CELL Roadster is controlled with drive-by-wire technology, and a joystick takes the place of a conventional steering wheel. The vehicle is powered by a 1.2 kW emission-free fuel cell system located at the rear. It could reach a top speed of 25 km/h and achieve an operating range of up to 350 km(217 mile). "The F-CELL Roadster uniquely combines state-of-the-art technologies with the history of vehicle construction. As an allusion to the Benz Patent Motor Car from 1886, the vehicle is fitted with large spoked wheels. Moreover, the F-CELL Roadster incorporates stylistic elements from diverse eras of automotive history, such as the carbon-fiber bucket seats with hand-stitched leather covers and the distinctively styled fiberglass front section, based on the component from the Formula One racing bolides."
